Hello, I'm Aisha. I graduated with a bachelor's in computer science and a master's in data science from NYIT. Education has always been a passion of mine and one of my career choices. I currently work as a middle school science teacher, teaching high school level biology, chemistry, and physics (all with some introduction to AP level) at an academically rigorous school. I've been teaching for about 3 years in preparing my students for the NYS regents, especially on physics. I have also assisted in teaching and preparing students for NYS algebra regents. Engaging students and building on their confidence in STEM related subjects is what I strive for in my classroom.
I have had experience working in STEM related summer camps and volunteering (where I introduced and taught Scratch programming to young kids). For one of those camps, I assisted in coaching students on building their own robotic cars. Both of the experiences mentioned were extremely fun and rewarding to be part of! Math and science may be challenging at times but are not impossible to deal with! Getting my students to be inquisitive and share a passion for math and science is a long-term goal of mine as an educator.
