My experience is extensive and multi-faceted. I have a B.S. in Stanford and I was in a PhD program at UCSC where I filled auditoriums with 100s of students due to my enthusiasm and effective, engaging teaching style. I taught and tutored for the Princeton Review, mainly MCAT Physics, for over 7 years. I've been teaching advanced physics and astronomy at Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn for the past 12 years. I thrive in approaching each student individually. I mentor them one on one in many cases and create techniques for them to develop thinking structure that helps them formulate logical thought processes that can be repeated over and over. I help them organize notes, learn how to breathe when they are stressed, where to point their eyes, and how to replace thoughts of doubt with thoughts of optimized success and knowing. I teach knowing and logical thinking based on core principles instead of memorization. I show them how to begin, and how to structure, and how to know what the answer means, not just write a number down. Students thrive in this model, and many at the end of year are amazed at what they are able to accomplish. They leave feeling confident and empowered.
Observe. Structure. Refine. Empower. This is my model. I want you to know what you are doing, and to be smarter than any test you face, interal or external.
I teach AP Physics (1, 2, and C), College Physics (Mechanics, E&M, Astrophysics), MCAT Physics, AP Calculus, and SAT/ACT Math. My approach emphasizes deep understanding, calm focus, and independent reasoning.
Each student is unique; I adapt sessions to their goals, learning style, and current level of understanding. My mission is to awaken clarity, confidence, and mastery — so students leave each session thinking better and knowing why the methods work, not just getting to an answer. Then, you can apply this to anything. Let's see what you can do.
