I am a junior at New York University majoring in Mechanical Engineering, where I have built a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and core engineering classes. Since last year, I have been working as a peer tutor for NYU’s TRIO Scholars Program at NYU, working primarily with students in Calculus I as well as foundational mechanical engineering courses. This role has trained me to support students with a wide range of backgrounds and learning styles, from those facing college-level math for the first time to students seeking to perfect their understanding for engineering applications.
My tutoring experience have all been in the form of 1-1 tutoring. My approach focuses on patience, simplifying, and building true problem-solving skills rather than memorization. I break concepts into manageable steps and encourage students to explain their reasoning so they gain confidence and independence. Having recently completed these courses myself, I understand the common challenges students face and how to overcome them efficiently. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and leave each session with both stronger skills and greater confidence in their abilities.
