I've spent years working with young people in various capacities. As director of the counselor-in-training program at my camp, I spent seven weeks each summer mentoring teenagers in responsibility, confidence, and life skills—including guiding them through the college application process. I've also taught drawing, acting, and painting to children at camp, and tutored students in my neighborhood after graduating college.
What drives me as a tutor is helping students break through challenges. When I was younger I had learning difficulties, but a tutor I had in 7th grade taught me time management and helped me to creatively digest information. His help made me the student I am. I believe every problem is solvable with the right combination of persistence and creative thinking. My approach is warm and patient, and I work well with students of all ages. Whether we're tackling test prep, homework help, or college essays, my goal is to build both skills and confidence.
