Hi! My name is Claire, and I am a UC Berkeley graduate with High Distinction, where I earned Bachelor’s degrees in Statistics and Data Science. I have always loved math, not just solving problems but helping others understand why things work. During college, I built a strong foundation in mathematics, probability, and statistical reasoning, and I have spent several years helping students build confidence and clarity across a wide range of math subjects.

I have over three years of tutoring and teaching experience working with students of different ages and learning styles. I began tutoring upper-division university courses in Data Science, Probability, and Statistics, working one-on-one with students to break down challenging concepts and strengthen problem-solving skills. I later served as a Lead Teacher’s Assistant for two years, where I guided small groups, led review sessions, and helped design lesson plans. In addition to college-level tutoring, I have extensive experience supporting elementary, middle school, and high school students in Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Statistics, and SAT Math. I also volunteer on weekends mentoring elementary school students, which has helped me develop a patient and clear teaching style for younger learners.

I start by identifying where a student feels stuck and tailor each session to their goals, whether that is mastering foundational skills, preparing for exams, or building long-term confidence in math. I emphasize understanding over memorization by using step-by-step explanations, practice problems, and real examples. I aim to create a comfortable and encouraging learning environment where students feel confident asking questions. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them develop lasting problem-solving skills and confidence in math.
