Bio

I was drawn to engineering because I’ve always been curious about how the world works and how to explain it clearly. I loved breaking things down, understanding systems, and making sense of complex ideas. I was drawn to engineering because I’ve always been curious about how the world works and how to explain it clearly. I loved breaking things down, understanding systems, and making sense of complex ideas. Teaching was always in the back of my mind, but I wanted to explore engineering first—and I truly enjoyed that experience. Over time, though, I felt a stronger desire to make a more direct and meaningful impact, which ultimately led me into education. I’ve also worked as a swimming coach for many years, and across both teaching and coaching, nothing is more satisfying than seeing growth.

There’s a powerful moment when you rethink how to explain a concept, break it into clearer steps, and suddenly see that “lightbulb” go on—followed by real improvement and confidence. I pride myself on adapting my explanations, meeting students where they are, and helping them develop the motivation to improve themselves. Students and athletes alike often describe me as enthusiastic, positive, and genuinely invested in their success—sometimes to the point of over-dedicating myself because I care so deeply about their progress. My ultimate goal is to build students’ confidence so they realize they are capable of solving problems independently. While I enjoy working with all learners, I specialize in supporting high school students.
