I am currently completing my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and have consistently earned Dean’s List recognition for academic excellence. My coursework has focused heavily on research, analytical writing, APA formatting, and critical thinking, which allows me to confidently tutor students in criminal justice topics as well as academic writing and essay development across subjects. Through my studies, I have developed strong skills in breaking down complex material, organizing ideas clearly, and helping students strengthen their academic voice while meeting assignment requirements.
My tutoring approach is supportive, structured, and student centered. I work with students one on one to identify where they may be struggling, whether that is understanding course material, organizing an essay, developing a thesis, or properly citing sources. Rather than completing work for students, I guide them through the process by helping with outlines, revisions, grammar, clarity, and overall structure. I emphasize understanding the “why” behind assignments so students gain skills they can carry forward into future classes. I am especially comfortable assisting with APA style, discussion posts, research papers, and exam preparation.
I have experience supporting students of various ages, including college level learners, in one on one settings. Much of my experience comes from peer academic support, coursework collaboration, and helping classmates improve their writing and comprehension. I am patient, encouraging, and adaptable to different learning styles, and I strive to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build their confidence, independence, and long term academic success.
