I have been teaching private piano lessons for over 12 years, and have been working as a music therapist for over 7 years. I have also taught group lessons and rock band classes for kids, and have provided performance prep sessions for young pianists.
I have taught students of all ages and abilities, including neurodivergent individuals. I employ a holistic methodology and emphasize music theory and ear training for all of my students. In piano lessons, I focus on proper classical technique, while aiming to meet student interests and be flexible with what music we're learning. Theory and ear training were some of my favorite subjects in college and I love helping students expand their knowledge there.
In addition to piano, I play guitar and harp, and I also sing. Being a well-rounded musician myself allows me to support my students in doing the same.
