I believe my job as a teacher is to collaborate with a student to overcome a challenge. With every lesson, I meet students where they are, and together we tailor our lessons to fit their skills, interests, and needs. By approaching lessons collaboratively, we create an environment that emphasizes progress over perfection and uses their existing strengths to build new skills. I have experience in a number of different teaching environments including online and in-person, one-on-one and group settings, and with students of all skill levels.
I have over ten years of teaching experience in a wide range of subjects and with students from first grade through college. I primarily teach test prep (SAT, ISEE, ACT, PSAT, TACHS and others) as well as English and humanities courses. I specialize in helping students with all areas of writing from foundational essay-writing concepts to advanced AP / IB and college application essays. With this, we focus on both the technical elements (grammar, punctuation, syntax, sentence structure, etc.) as well as overarching concepts like clear communication, flow of ideas, and form and structure.
I am currently a graduate student at NYU (2026), studying musical theatre and playwriting. I also graduated cum laude from NYU (2022) with a bachelor's degree in music theory & composition, and educational theatre.
