I have a strong background in teaching English in both U.S. and international contexts, with experience spanning elementary education, academic English, and conversational and professional ESL. I attended Brooklyn Technical High School, and graduated from SUNY Binghamton as an English Literature major. My formal classroom experience includes working as an elementary school teacher at an international school in Seoul as well as at a charter school on the Lower East Side of New York City, where I taught both second and fourth grade students. These roles required structured lesson planning, differentiation for varied skill levels, and close attention to literacy development, writing, and comprehension in a full classroom setting.

In addition to classroom teaching, I have extensive one-on-one and small-group tutoring experience. I taught business English and casual conversational English to Korean office workers, at one point working with approximately ten regular students per week. My approach emphasized practical communication, confidence-building, and adapting lessons to real workplace and social situations. Over the past five to ten years, I have continued teaching casual English on a long-term basis to individual Korean students, including a Korean celebrity and a Korean housewife, which required discretion, consistency, and highly personalized instruction. Across all settings, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults, both in classrooms and private tutoring contexts, and I focus on clear explanations, supportive feedback, and helping students become confident, effective English users.
