I earned a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame, where I specialized in philosophy of religion, metaphysics, and medieval philosophy while also developing broad competence in areas such as ethics and early modern philosophy. My doctoral training required extensive analytical writing, argumentation, and close reading of complex texts, skills that I now bring to my tutoring. In addition to my graduate work, my academic background includes years of intensive study in the humanities, during which I developed strong abilities in writing, critical thinking, and guiding students through difficult conceptual material.

Throughout my graduate studies, I gained several years of teaching and mentoring experience at the undergraduate level. At the University of Notre Dame, I worked both as a teaching assistant and as the instructor of record for writing-intensive philosophy courses, leading discussion sections, delivering lectures, and mentoring students through written assignments and exams. I regularly worked with students one-on-one during office hours to help them develop thesis statements, structure arguments, and revise essays. Many of the students I taught were first- and second-year undergraduates who were still learning how to approach college-level writing and analytical reading, so a large part of my role involved helping them break complex assignments into manageable steps and build confidence in their own ideas.

As a tutor, my approach is collaborative and student-centered. Rather than simply providing answers, I focus on helping students understand the underlying skills needed to succeed—whether that means clarifying difficult readings, strengthening argumentative writing, preparing for exams, or developing study strategies. I enjoy working with students individually and tailoring sessions to their goals, and I aim to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, testing ideas, and developing confidence in their academic abilities.

I received a PhD in Philosophy and have several years of experience working with students on essay writing/revision. At the University of Notre Dame I served both as a teaching assistant and as the instructor of record for several philosophy courses, and have worked with dozens of students one-on-one to help them develop thesis statements, structure arguments, and revise essays. Many of the students I taught were first- and second-year undergraduates who were still learning how to approach college-level writing and analytical reading. My role was to help them break complex assignments into manageable steps and express their ideas with confidence.
