I’m a certified English/Language Arts teacher with 24 years of experience teaching advanced and gifted middle school students, as well as supporting learners with 504 plans and IEPs. I specialize in strengthening reading comprehension, analytical writing, grammar, and test-taking skills through clear modeling, engaging strategies, and personalized support that meets each learner’s needs. In addition to my classroom role, I serve on multiple school leadership committees that focus on student progress and school improvement, giving me a broader understanding of how to set students up for long-term success. I also mentor students in book clubs, TED-style presentations, and high-level literary analysis, helping them find both skill and voice in their academic work.

My teaching approach is warm, patient, and structured, creating a learning environment where students feel safe to take risks and grow. I pride myself on meeting students exactly where they are, identifying their strengths, and building targeted plans that help them move forward with confidence. Whether your child needs enrichment to stay challenged, focused skill-building to boost performance, or support developing stronger study habits and organization, I will design a customized plan that supports their individual goals. My priority is to help every student not only improve academically but also develop the self-assurance and independence they need to thrive.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have extensive experience supporting students (and teachers) in grades K–8, helping them build foundational literacy skills and develop confidence as readers and writers. I’ve worked with younger learners on phonics, fluency, vocabulary development, and early paragraph writing using clear modeling and engaging, age-appropriate strategies. I've worked with older learners on comprehension, analysis, vocabulary, problem solving, executive functioning skills, critical thinking, and meta-cognitive skills. My K–8 approach focuses on strengthening core skills while keeping learning fun, structured, and tailored to each child’s needs. I hold a bachelors degree with a double major in education and psychology. Additionally, I have my masters in educational leadership. Finally, I hold multiple teaching certificates including K-8 General Content Knowledge, English/Language Arts, Principal, and Supervisor.

Essay Writing

With over 20 years of teaching experience and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, I have a strong track record of guiding students to become confident, analytical writers. I specialize in breaking down complex writing skills into clear, engaging steps that support learners at all levels. Through modeling, targeted feedback, and creative scaffolds, I help students develop powerful thesis statements, organized paragraphs, and insightful analysis. My classroom consistently produces strong writers who are prepared for high-school-level expectations and beyond.
Executive Functioning

Executive Functioning

With over 24 years of experience as a middle school educator, I am uniquely qualified to teach executive functioning skills because I have spent decades helping students plan, organize, prioritize, and reflect in real academic settings. As a gifted and talented ELA teacher, I intentionally design instruction that strengthens skills such as goal-setting, time management, task initiation, self-monitoring, and flexible thinking. These are skills students must use daily to succeed. My background in curriculum design and assessment allows me to break complex tasks into manageable steps and explicitly teach students how to think and problem solve. Through years of observing student patterns, conferring one on one, and adjusting supports, I have developed practical, strategies that meet learners where they are. Most importantly, my approach is grounded in trust, reflection, and accountability, empowering students to transfer executive functioning skills beyond the classroom and into real life. Thinking metacognitively is what students ultimately lack, and I am here to develop those skills.
