I am a dedicated and experienced English Language Arts educator with over seven years of teaching experience, primarily working with middle school students in grades 6 through 8. I hold a Master’s in Education from Relay Graduate School of Education (2022) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hunter College (2019). Throughout my career, I have designed and implemented engaging, standards-aligned curriculum that supports student-centered learning environments, focusing on both fiction and nonfiction texts, poetry analysis, essay writing, and strategies for tackling multiple-choice assessments.

In my current role as an ELA teacher, I employ differentiated instruction techniques to meet the diverse learning needs of my students, and I utilize formative and summative assessments to track progress and adjust lessons accordingly. I have also served as a Grade Team Leader, where I collaborated with colleagues to improve instructional strategies, develop curriculum maps, and provide one-on-one coaching to teachers. These experiences have strengthened my ability to break down complex reading and writing skills into manageable steps, making them accessible and engaging for each student.

My approach to tutoring emphasizes building both skills and confidence. I work individually with students to strengthen reading comprehension, analyze literary and informational texts, refine essay writing, and master test-taking strategies. I am passionate about creating inclusive learning experiences and fostering a supportive environment where students feel empowered to express themselves and achieve measurable academic growth. Whether students need support with homework, preparing for standardized tests, or enhancing their literary analysis and writing skills, I provide structured, interactive lessons tailored to each student’s unique goals.
