Hello! My name is Tracy Li, and I am a certified general and special education teacher with extensive experience working with students in elementary. I have taught in a variety of settings including ICT classrooms, self-contained special education, and 1:1 intervention and I currently work full-time as a NYC DOE teacher. My background includes guiding struggling learners, English language learners, and students with IEPs using research-based strategies such as explicit instruction, scaffolding, chunking, visual supports, and structured questioning. Over the years, I’ve helped students build confidence, master challenging skills, and develop stronger academic habits.
My approach to tutoring is patient, structured, and highly individualized. I believe every child learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to meet each student’s needs, whether that means breaking down complex concepts, using visuals and hands-on examples, or providing step-by-step modeling with guided practice. I build my sessions around clear goals, consistent communication, and measurable growth. Most importantly, I strive to create a safe and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking academic risks. I am committed to helping each learner make real progress, feel supported, and reach their full potential. I would love the opportunity to support you or your child on your learning journey!
