I am a drummer, percussionist, composer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist with extensive experience as both a performer and educator. With over twenty years of teaching students of all ages and skill levels—from beginners to advanced musicians, ages four to seventy—I have developed a deep understanding of how to connect with learners in a way that supports their individual goals. I hold a degree in Percussion and Audio Production from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), and my professional background includes decades of international touring, recording, collaboration, and production across a wide range of genres and creative projects.
My teaching philosophy centers on combining strong fundamentals and established repertoire with a customized, student-centered approach. I believe that every student learns differently and deserves a lesson plan designed specifically for their needs, interests, and aspirations. I specialize in working with students who have struggled with traditional instruction or who wish to pursue unique, nontraditional artistic goals. My aim is to help each student discover their creative voice while building the skills and confidence to express it fully.
I teach drums, percussion, piano, and guitar, as well as songwriting, rhythm theory, music theory, production, and creative strategy. In addition to instrumental instruction, I offer mentorship in general arts and music career development. My teaching experience includes one-on-one lessons, group sectionals, percussion ensembles, improvisation groups, and workshops in both public and private school settings. I have also led touring bands and served as an accompanist for dancers, providing a well-rounded perspective on performance and collaboration.
As a passionate educator and artist, my mission is to inspire creativity, discipline, and confidence in every student—bridging technical mastery with authentic artistic expression through personalized and engaging instruction
