About Michelle
Hi! I’m Michelle! Nice to meet you! I have experience teaching one-on-one with students in Elementary through High School. I also have experience working with special needs one-on-one as well.
I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Psychology. I also have a Dual Master’s Degree in Applied/Developmental Psychology. The reason I went into this field was to help better understand one of my children as well as other children. I wanted to help and encourage the children as well as the parents.
Giving them hope to know that with a little extra one-on-one their child could learn just like other kids. It just takes creativity and a bit more patience. Having a child on the spectrum helped me to be creative in my teaching (my child was able to read and speak after I worked with her).
I have experience working with children in different grade levels for over 14 years ( home school teacher). I have experience as a teacher assistant and I volunteered as a tutor for junior high school students.
I believe learning should be a fun experience. An environment filled with stress will not help with the engagement process. Whatever subjects my students need help with. I will make sure to create a custom plan to help them thrive with their specific needs and learning goals. I want to encourage and create an environment that makes learning not only fun but meaningful to the student!
Therefore, the student and parents are welcome to provide any resources or suggestions. I am easy to reach and will always provide responses in a reasonable manner. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson.
