Brown Honors Grad for Science and English Tutoring

Hi! I am an ecologist and researcher who graduated from Brown with Honors, majoring in Environmental Science and English Literature. My educational background and work experience prepare me to work with students on a range of subjects and assignments, including biology and environmental science, English/writing, and test prep. I am excited to work with middle and high school students who are seeking support in these areas and are looking for a tutor who is enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and friendly.

At Brown, I was the Head Teaching Assistant for multiple biology courses, TA'ing for six semesters consecutively. My students consistently found me to be helpful in breaking down course content, responsive to individual questions, skilled at communicating complex ideas, and easy to contact outside of class hours to answer questions. As a tutor, I love connecting with individuals to understand what they are curious about, where they are struggling, and developing strategies tailored to their learning style.

I also have a background in science communication and journalism. For over two years, I was the Senior Reporter for Possibly, an environmental science public radio program that airs weekly in Rhode Island. As a journalist, I learned to be an exceptional and engaging communicator. I am able to explain complex ideas clearly and in a way that draws students into the material. I connect topics to students' interests and demonstrate how biology and environmental science help us understand the world around us.
