Educational Background:

I am a full-time elementary school math/reading teacher. I have been in this position for 2 years. Also, I am currently in graduate school to secure my Masters in Teaching. As part of my coursework, I received training in literacy instruction, foundational reading skills (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension), and developmentally appropriate math instruction aligned with state standards - which equipped me with effective, research-based strategies for teaching reading and math to diverse learners.

Teaching and Tutoring Experience:

I have over 5 years of experience tutoring and teaching reading and math to students in grades K-8. My experience includes:
1-on-1 tutoring, small group instruction and classroom teaching. I have worked privately with students who needed support in early literacy, comprehension strategies, foundational math skills, and math fluency. I use hands-on materials, games, and visual supports to make learning engaging and accessible. I’ve led targeted reading and math intervention groups, using assessments to track progress and adjust instruction accordingly. In classroom settings, I taught math and reading daily, differentiating instruction for students at various proficiency levels, including English language learners and students with IEPs or 504 plans.
