Hello! I’m Mahogany — a passionate science educator with over three years of experience teaching middle and high school students. I hold a B.A. in Biology and Molecular Science from Coker University, where I was part of the first cohort of STEM Scholar recipients funded by the National Science Foundation. I also earned an M.S. in Biology and Public Health from New York University, where I worked as a Teaching Assistant, supporting courses in biology and research methods. I am currently pursuing a second M.S. in Epidemiology with a concentration in Infectious Disease.
My academic background and classroom experience allow me to support students in a wide range of subjects, including:
AP Biology and General Biology
Anatomy & Physiology
Biostatistics and Biological Math
Scientific Writing and Research Skills (including lab reports and thesis prep)
Public Health and Epidemiology Concepts
I have guided students through lab experiments, data interpretation, and critical reading of scientific literature. I also specialize in helping students strengthen their academic writing and study strategies—skills I’ve developed through completing two theses and assisting undergraduate researchers at NYU.
Whether you’re preparing for an AP exam, writing a lab report, or trying to understand complex biological systems, I’m here to help you build confidence, deepen understanding, and reach your academic goals.
