I received my Bachelors degree from Cornell University in 2010 as a History major, and Master's degree from University of Colorado Boulder - Leeds School of Business in 2014 with a focus in Business Analytics (member Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.
I currently work in commercial finance, but I have experience in teaching, tutoring and mentoring roles in the past. I previously worked as a 9th grade Earth Science teacher at Montbello High School in Denver, Colorado through Teach For America where I received my teaching certificate. I left my teaching job after a staff reduction and, since then, my employment journey has taken me outside of the education system, but I have volunteered in Denver, CO as a mentor/ tutor for a college prep program for High School students called Minds Matter, where I provided one-on-one instruction with homework help, resume-building, college applications strategy, and personal essay writing. Most recently, I am a volunteer facilitator in New York City for a non-profit called The Focus Forward Project, teaching a class (8-15 students) for incarcerated men that focuses on book discussion, as well as executive function, resume-building, networking and conflict-resolution skills.
I have always been academically inclined and a very strong test-taker (800 SAT Verbal, 740 SAT Math, 770 SAT Writing, 790 SAT Subject test US History, 770 SAT Subject test Literature, 700 GMAT) and enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and helping people unlock the strategies that enable them to succeed.
I find this type of work to be fulfilling and challenging. I think that my previous experiences and temperament would make me a good fit, and I currently have a flexible schedule to take on new work.
