Hi! I’m a working writer and filmmaker with a deep love for teaching. I have an MFA in Fiction Writing from U Alabama's top-ten program, as well as a Bachelor’s in English Literature from Williams College. In total, I’ve spent five years teaching professionally. I taught undergrads for three years at U Alabama, specializing in academic essay construction and creative writing, and I taught high school English for two, where I was the resident college admissions essay tutor.

Hi! I’m a working writer and filmmaker with a deep love for teaching. I published one collection of short stories before transitioning into filmmaking, and some of my individual stories have been published by top-ranked literary journals like The Missouri Review and Moon City Review. I currently work as an independent screenwriter and director, so developing and polishing scripts is part of my day-to-day. I’m happy to work with a screenplay at any stage of development, and I can offer a genuine professional perspective from inside the industry. I’m also at home offering feedback on prose and poetry, after hundreds of hours in rigorous MFA workshops.
After a few years concentrating on my own writing, I’ve returned to teaching simply because I love it. Working with students through the revision process to help them better express their ideas is one of my biggest passions. Let’s bring your stories to life!
