My name is Caroline H., and I am a recent graduate of Princeton University with a degree in English and minors in History and African American Studies. Over the past five years, I’ve built a strong foundation in writing instruction, editing, and mentorship through both my academic and professional experiences. At Princeton, I served as a four-year mentor for the university’s Western Humanities Sequence—the college's rigorous, writing-intensive course for first-year students. In this role, I worked one-on-one with students to guide them through the writing process, from brainstorming to final edits. Whether helping students clarify their ideas or strengthen their arguments, my goal has always been to preserve the writer’s voice while making every sentence count.
My approach is rooted in patience, curiosity, and collaboration. I have supported students of varying skill levels, primarily ages 17–20, and have seen firsthand how individualized attention can unlock a student’s confidence and creativity. My own writing has been recognized with the Francis Biddle Prize for the best essay written by a sophomore in Princeton’s English Department, and I was later awarded the A. Scott Berg Fellowship to develop a collection of creative nonfiction under faculty mentorship. Outside of academia, I’ve crafted blog posts, marketing materials, and persuasive messaging in political and nonprofit spaces, giving me a wide lens on how to write with purpose for diverse audiences. Whether you're preparing for college essays, building stronger analytical writing skills for high school or college, or just want to feel more confident expressing yourself, I’m here to help you grow as a thinker and a writer.
