Hi, I’m Ece! I tutor humanities and social sciences at the high school, undergraduate, and adult levels, with a particular strength in Political Theory, Political Science, and Moral Philosophy. I also support students with essay writing in the humanities and social sciences, critical reading and interpretation, research and paper planning, and graduate school applications, including personal statements and research proposals.
I hold a Ph.D. in Political Science from Columbia University and have over seven years of experience teaching undergraduates at all levels, both in person and online. I’ve led small seminar-style classes—typically capped at 20 students—on topics such as Political Theory, Moral Philosophy, International Relations, Justice, and Human Rights. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with more than 300 students from diverse international backgrounds.
My tutoring approach centers on close reading and structured reasoning. I begin sessions by walking students through dense and abstract texts, helping them identify key arguments and trace the underlying logic. From there, I guide them to reflect critically on the material, encouraging them to develop academically informed perspectives and their own analytical voice. My goal is always to build students’ confidence in their analytical writing, reading comprehension, and critical thinking.
Students have described me as “approachable,” “incredibly supportive.” I care deeply about helping students feel empowered when engaging with complex material and I’m here to support them every step of the way.
