As a writer/director, I have created 12 TV pilots, multiple episodes, and 8 feature films. I have been teaching acting, directing actors, film production and screenwriting for 15 years privately, through Donna Morong Studios (L.A.) and I have lectured at NYU.
Acting: I have been coaching actors for auditions for 15 years. My students have ranged from teen students to working adult actors with all experience levels. I work with each actor by zoom or in person to break down their audition scenes, find the precise beats for the best performance, tape audition and choose the best takes. I have been teaching a master scene study class for actors and writers (in person and zoom) that offers an in depth analysis of complex scenes from movies, TV and theater. We break down scenes, choose scene partners, and perform the scenes in the context of actually shooting the material.
Screenwriting: I coach screenwriting for film, series and pilots. I focus on the art of forming ideas and characters, character arcs, scene structure, outlines through to the final product. In a complex landscape of studio and indy features and streaming content, I also guide the writer through every step of the business and representation process.
Directing: I coach directing for television, features and short films. I work with students, film school filmmakers, first time directors and even coach veterans who are up for a new project. Directing actors is my specialty, especially with comedy, and also focus the study on storytelling through camera placement, production design, wardrobe and music.
