My name's Louise! What's yours??? (Don't worry if you don't get this reference, it's a deep cut from Gypsy) I am a comedian, performer, and writer newly based in Brooklyn, NY! I just recently graduated from Bowdoin College, an elite liberal arts institution in Brunswick, Maine, where for the duration of my studentship, I worked as a Writing Assistant in the Baldwin Center for Learning and Teaching. As a Writing Assistant, I received thorough training based in the latest scholarship on writing center theory and practice, dedicating me to providing non-judgemental, effective, and empowering writing assistance. Skilled in helping writers to access a process that works for them, I am proud to have received overwhelming positive feedback from students I have worked with who most value my active listening style, caring and sincere demeanor, positivity and supportive feedback, and creative problem solving prowess.
Meeting writers of all ages where they are at any stage of the creative process and providing them access to the tools they need to succeed is my area of expertise!
I am also experienced with providing homework help for students of all ages, by way of my work with organizations such as El Centro Hispano in Durham, NC and Blue Ridge Literacy Council, in Hendersonville, NC. I received an out-of-the-park all around education in math, science, and history at the North Carolina School for Science and Mathematics and am prepared to help your K-12 students in whatever field of study gives them the most grief!
Finally, my two summers of experience as an acting and musical theater teacher at the Flat Rock Playhouse endow me with a spirit of play and a deep care and concern for my students as whole people!
As a successful and confident individual who identifies as neurodivergent and queer, I hope to provide a nourishing and encouraging work environment for students struggling with mental health, getting to know their neurodivergence, and exploring their queerness especially!
