Hi! My name is Mikayla, and I’m a passionate and experienced math educator with a strong background in both classroom teaching and one-on-one tutoring. I graduated magna cum laude from California Lutheran University in 2017, and went on to earn my Master’s in Education and Teaching Credential in Mathematics from the University of California, Irvine.
Over the years, I’ve taught Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 at the high school level and currently teach 7th and 8th grade math. I also have experience tutoring at Mathnasium and working with individual students in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and middle school math. My teaching style is student-centered, and I often use small group instruction in my classroom—this focus on personal connection and targeted support translates perfectly into tutoring.
I specialize in middle school math as well as Algebra 1 and 2. Nothing makes me happier than helping a student work through a tricky concept and watching it finally click. I believe every student is capable of success in math, and I’m here to guide them on that journey with patience, encouragement, and a lot of positive energy.
