I am certified by New York State to teach grades 5 through 12, but through tutoring, I have worked with students of all ages and grades from K-12. Most often I work with students in developing their proficiency in math and ELA courses, but I also have experience tutoring science and history. I also have experience helping students with test prep for the SAT, ACT, and SHSAT exams.
Fluent in Spanish and certified in special education, I enjoy working with students from diverse backgrounds and have experience explaining complex concepts in simple ways. I am skilled at developing individualized curricula to support student learning and retention through an engaging combination of inquiry-based learning and multiple opportunities for practice.
