I have a Ph.D. in chemistry and over 15 years of experience helping students succeed in chemistry. I make this challenging subject engaging through patience, humor, and a structured approach. I work with high school, college, and graduate students. For high school I cover AP and IB Chemistry. At the college level I specialize in General, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry (including organometallics). I also provide MCAT Chemistry prep (General, Organic, Biochemistry).

I am a graduate of the UC San Diego/San Diego State University Joint Doctoral Program in Chemistry. I have taught General and Organic Chemistry labs at the college level. In the research lab, I mentored undergraduate students that went on to graduate school at UPenn and the Instituto Catalan de Investigacion Quimica (Spain).

I will work closely with you to figure out where you are stuck, and provide clear, straightforward instruction. My approach is to break concepts down step by step, reinforce it with a specific example, and outline a problem-solving strategy. Sessions are customized to your specific course and needs.

Please provide 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Missed sessions or cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged the full fee. I wait 15 minutes at the start; after that, the session counts as a no-show.
