Hi! I'm Ross, an English, writing, and test prep tutor based in Brooklyn, NY.

I enjoy working to help students find success in reading and writing skills, even if it's not their strongest subject. I'm an enthusiastic teacher with a real passion for the subjects I tutor in. If you're someone who struggles with reading and writing, or just needs an extra boost, it would be my pleasure to help. I know that everyone has preferred learning styles, and I'd be happy to work with you to tailor my instruction to your specific needs.

I have over four years of tutoring experience. While enrolled in college, I worked at the Office of Academic Support as a peer writing tutor, helping my fellow students fine-tune academic essays, from brainstorming and implementing sources to editing and formatting for submission. At the culmination of my college experience, I successfully wrote and defended a full-length, peer-reviewed academic thesis, using the skills that I developed over my years of training. I've recently worked within the French educational system as an English Language Assistant, where I assisted students ages 12-15 with reading comprehension, vocabulary, and conversational skills. I also have experience as a private tutor, where I’ve worked with students ages 9 through 16 to develop reading and writing skills. I have a strong background in ACT and SAT prep with a focus on Reading, English, and Writing sections. I received a perfect score of 36 on both the English and Reading section of the ACT. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Comparative Literature as well as a TEFL certification.
