I am based in Brooklyn, New York. My main subjects are Spanish, test prep, writing and art. I love helping students make progress. I have 8+ years of experience teaching all ages. I have a lifelong passion of 50+ years with Spanish. My experiences learning the language really give me a lot of insight into what students experience as they go through the language learning process of learning English. I earned a BA from UC Santa Cruz and I got my TEFL certificate in 2021. I have seen many students make good progress in their writing, sentence structure and pronunciation with my lessons.

I have been writing in a professional setting and I have excelled at editing , consulting and writing for many years. I have some published pieces.

I am great at ESL lessons and I really enjoy doing that type of lesson. I am also a good conversation teacher. I have worked with many Asian adults and children in person and online. Going through the Spanish language acquisition process myself has given me insight to what the ESL students are going through. I helped ESL students to improve their vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing and more.

Great Progress

My 10-year-old has been with Mr. Ben for 8-months and it’s been great! I told him what my son needed help with (mostly ELA) and he’s helped him tremendously! . Whenever my son also needed help with math, Mr. Ben was able to provide assistance. Ben is very involved and has asked to get reports from the teachers and has worked with him in those areas too. My son enjoys working with Mr. Ben and he’s very nice.
