About Melissa

Bio

I am a teacher and writer based in Westchester County, New York, specializing in LSAT Logical Reasoning strategies and writing instruction.

In 2023, I scored within the top 11% of LSAT test-takers. I received multiple offers of admission with scholarship funding, including a $55,000 unconditional annual scholarship at Cardozo School of Law. My interest in the LSAT has remained strong because of the test’s intellectual rigor, precision, and emphasis on clear logical thinking.

My goal is to equip students with an intuitive understanding of the LSAT. My approach is the same one I used to raise my score from a 150 cold diagnostic to a 164 on my official LSAT.

In addition to LSAT prep, I provide writing instruction for middle school, high school, college, and adult students. I can help with college and law school admissions essays, academic writing, and LSAT Argumentative Writing.

I earned my M.S.Ed. in Childhood Education and Special Education from the University of Mount Saint Vincent in 2025, and I am certified to teach childhood and special education in New York State. I spent three years as a substitute at the elementary and intermediate school levels, and a year as an intermediate school special education teacher. I was recently accepted as a Teaching Fellow in Manhattanville University’s MFA program in Creative Writing, which I will begin in Fall 2026.

I have experience working with students with ADHD and other learning differences to develop strategies that support their goals. I can help students identify unhelpful study habits, create actionable study plans, and build the confidence necessary to make meaningful progress.

I am a good fit for students seeking a patient, thoughtful tutor who can explain difficult concepts clearly and adapt sessions to the way they think. Whether you are trying to improve your LSAT score, strengthen your writing, or organize your study plan, I will meet you where you are and help you achieve your goals.
