Hi, I'm Nina! I'm a 2022 Marshall Scholar and published writer. I hold a BA in English from Pomona College, an MA in English from the University of Exeter, and an MA in Creative & Life Writing from Goldsmiths, University of London. I graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Pomona and received Pomona’s annual creative writing prize for my undergraduate thesis.

I have 6+ years of experience tutoring writing. I have worked with students one-on-one within the Hunter College High School and Pomona College writing center, and as an admissions essay editor for Global Graduates’ Union. I am happy to help with everything writing-related; I’ve worked with students on college essays, fellowship applications, academic assignments, and novels.

Our sessions will always respond directly to your needs. I enjoy talking with students to understand their biggest challenges—from difficulties structuring an essay to anxieties about beginning research—and working together to make these challenges more manageable. I am passionate about equipping students with the skills they need to break down big projects, tackle issues that arise throughout drafting, and ultimately advance their thinking through writing.

My background as a debater and debate coach prepares me to help students develop key skills in public speaking and argumentation. As a debater, I was the top speaker at the 2017 Tournament of Champions in Lincoln Douglas and won the Harvard Invitational, the Yale Invitational, the Lexington Invitational, and the Mid-America Cup, amongst others. I have taught debate for six years, coached for Debate Drills and the Oakwood School, and worked as an instructor for the Victory Briefs Institute. My students have gone on to qualify and advance to elimination rounds of the Tournament of Champions.

Please reach out with any questions. I look forward to working together!
