I received my BA in philosophy from Boston College and an MA in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University. I have also worked in the neuroscience research department at Mt. Sinai for 2 years and the Harlem Children's Zone as a one-on-one tutor and group lesson leader.
I am an experienced College Essay and ELA tutor with a passion for helping students write personal, authentic, and well-written essays. I am committed to meeting each student’s needs to ensure that they can best tell their story and showcase their strengths.
I take care to teach students writing techniques and skills that they will take with them into college and I check in regularly with students and parents to ensure that I exceed their expectations.
As a college essay specialist at Harlem Children’s Zone and the designated ELA tutor at the Employment and Technology Center for 2 years, I regularly assisted high school students with writing assignments in addition to ELA regents, ACT, and SAT prep. I have a background writing academic philosophy papers, research grants, and several published scientific papers. Throughout these experiences, I have found an appreciation for the craft of writing, and it is a joy sharing with students everything I have learned!
