Hi,

I am a patient, supportive, student-focused tutor with several years' experience teaching a variety of subjects, from third grade-level reading & writing to SAT prep. I tutor all ages, from kindergarten to college-level.

I have one year’s experience in high school working as a reading, writing & math tutor to elementary- and middle-school-age students and an SAT tutor. I also spent one year working as a volunteer tutor at the Johns Hopkins Tutorial Project, working with a third grader on reading, writing, and math skills. The Tutorial Project also offered training to improve our pedagogical abilities and help us relate effectively with our students.

I specialize in SAT/ACT & SSAT Prep services. I am an excellent test taker [1580 SAT score] and I focus not just on teaching the student the material, but also high-level test-taking strategies that will help them optimize their performance.

I also can help boost your student’s reading comprehension, literacy, rhetorical skills, and writing abilities. I recently graduated from Johns Hopkins with a degree in Writing Seminars, and I have two years of experience as a professional writer. I guarantee I can improve your student’s ability to read with understanding, write grammatically, and write persuasively.

About me:
I graduated this year from Johns Hopkins University, where I made the Dean's List in all eligible semesters and received the Lynn and Gray Poole Humanities Scholarship, with a 3.94 GPA. I attended Marin Academy high school on a full scholarship. I scored a 1580 on my SAT [800 Math & 780 Reading & Writing]. I hope to put my academic background to use, challenging my students to perform at the highest level.
