In a world where kids are often glued to their devices, I believe it's more important than ever to encourage them to explore hobbies that engage their hands and minds in the real world.
I’ve had about 4 years of experience with elementary school children (since high school really) and I could see that kids need more opportunities to pursue hobbies. Whenever I showed my kids my work, they would constantly ask for me to either teach them how I did it or crochet them a hat (which I did!) And a couple of them would come up to me and excitedly tell me how their Aunt or Grandma also crochet. Crochet is not just a fun activity, it's a way for children to express themselves, develop patience, and create something truly unique with their own two hands.
