About Gilad

My love for tutoring began in high school, where I volunteered to help several of my friends grasp challenging material. My friends would say that I have a way of breaking down difficult concepts into language that is clear and relatable.

I specialize in math, up to the precalculus level, and biology, from high school to college level. These subjects are my passion, and I am dedicated to helping students excel in them. I hold two bachelor's degrees in Biology and Biomedical Engineering,...

I hold two bachelor's degrees in Biology and Biomedical Engineering, and apply math and science in my job in neuroscience research every day. This experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of the material, allowing me to explain these topics clearly and effectively.

In my tutoring sessions, I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. I believe that understanding the student's perspective is key to effective teaching, so I tailor my methods to meet individual needs. One of my primary goals is to make learning fun and engaging. For example, I keep an ongoing list on my phone of real-world math problems I encounter in everyday life. This allows me to teach mathematical concepts in a realistic and relatable way, helping students see the practical applications of what they are learning.

ACT Science

ACT Science

I’m very passionate about teaching science - I plan to become a professor in Neuroscience one day so I can do it full-time. I have two bachelor’s degrees, one in Biology (which is also heavy on chemistry) and one in Biomedical Engineering (which is heavy on physics) so I have a good all-around education in the scientific disciplines that appear on the test.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I studied Biomedical Engineering so I did a lot of math, thru Differential Equations (the one after Calculus 3) and then further applied math classes in the realm of physics, biology, and engineering. That being said, I believe that the most relevant qualification is that I actually use algebra in my job as a Neuroscientist every single day!
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

One of my bachelor’s degrees is in Biomedical Engineering, which is heavy on advanced math classes, so I have the foundations of algebra down. I have helped several friends excel in math classes.
Biology

Biology

I have two bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Biomedical Engineering (summa cum laude). I have 4 years’ experience in biology research including 2 years in neuroscience. I have also helped my little sister get a 5 on her AP Biology exam.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I have two bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Biomedical Engineering, the first of which is heavy on Chemistry. I tutored many friends in college to help them excel in advanced Chemistry courses up to and including Organic Chemistry. I continue to use Chemistry concepts in my job as a Neuroscientist.
Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook

I am the go-to tech support for friends, family, and at my job. I have taught my grandparents how to use computer applications including Microsoft Outlook.
