I am a Columbia University graduate and current MFA student at Brooklyn College majoring in creative writing. At Columbia, I maintained a 4.0 gpa and was the recipient of myriad named scholarships. This allowed me to support myself by working part-time as a copywriter. At Brooklyn College, I am pursuing my dream of becoming a professor, and working with some of the most renowned poets of the twenty-first century in the process.

As a tutor, I take a personalized approach to each student. My goal is to help foster a life-long appreciation of language that extends beyond the confines of a single course or test. I strongly believe that anyone can come to love reading and writing. Anyone can learn to appreciate grammar as an extension of communication. Too often, the inadequacies of schooling make us feel inept and apathetic towards a subject that we might otherwise enjoy. I believe that every student deserves personalized attention to help them cultivate their own interest in language. My goal is to not only help students excel in school and perform spectacularly on standardized tests. I want to give students something they will use for the rest of their lives: the ability to communicate elegantly and effectively.

Writing is my life. It has helped me overcome financial hurdles, and has given me agency over my future. I’ve been forever changed by a few professors, who saw a talent in me that I couldn’t see myself. Now, I’m excited to pass on the gift of literature.
