Im Shay! I graduated from Stuyvesant High School and I'm currently attending Johns Hopkins University and going into my sophomore year as a physics major. I have two years of experience informally tutoring math with middle school students. Although my formal tutoring experience is limited, I have a strong academic background, especially in math and science. I'm mainly aiming to do test prep and I received a 1560 on the SAT and a 5 on the AP chemistry and calculus BC exams and I'm confident in tutoring for any of these exams. In addition, during my first year of college I took courses going beyond the scope of these as well as physics courses going beyond the ap level and I ended the year with a 4.0 GPA. Outside of academics, I've been playing chess since elementary school and could help someone learn at a introductory level. For most of my lessons, I'll give the student a problem set to either complete with me or in between sessions to then review with me. In addition, I'll provide focused lessons and problems to address specific areas of weakness. I'm flexible with hours, lesson plans, and location and I'll work with the student to meet their individual needs in the best way possible.
