I hold a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Hunter College, with science/math course electives such as chemistry (general and organic), pre-calculus, calculus, physics I and II, and upper-level biological science classes. I excelled academically, achieving an undergraduate GPA of 3.7.

After graduation, I became a Chemistry and Statistics tutor at Brooklyn College in 2008, working in-person at a learning center. With 6 hours daily, I assisted 4-5 students, adapting strategies for diverse needs, ensuring personalized attention, and hearing success stories.

Subsequently, I pursued a master’s degree in sciences at the University of New Haven, excelling in courses and participated in research. I gained teaching and tutoring experience at institutions like Brooklyn College (CUNY), Borough of Manhattan Community College, Kansas City Community College, and Sylvan Learning. My roles involved in-person classroom teaching and one-on-one tutoring in math and science, preparing students for standardized tests, and building a strong academic foundation.

In my tutoring sessions, I leverage resources, including visual aids and technology, making abstract concepts tangible. One-on-one tutoring strengthens understanding and fosters appreciation for subjects. Patiently listening, answering questions, and reinforcing concepts, I've made a substantial difference in helping students achieve desired grades.

Approaching students with empathy, I encourage active participation and critical thinking. At each session's start, I understand students' difficulties and goals, building trust and knowledge. Equipped for in-person and remote tutoring, I create a positive learning environment, explaining concepts thoroughly and emphasizing patience. Encouraging independent work, I ensure students grasp concepts before proceeding.
I would gladly tutor Algebra I & II, High School/College level Biological Sciences & Chemistry, and Regents/ACT exams. I am excited about contributing to your growth and success in math and science.
