My name is Elena. I am an Artist and Art Teacher in drawing and painting with extensive experience. I am offering private art lessons at my studio in Brooklyn.
I can teach you the basics of painting and drawing and help you complete a personal project, incite inspiration if you are stuck, or build up your skill set as you explore new media. My name is Elena. I am an Artist and Art Teacher in drawing and painting with extensive experience. I am offering private art lessons at my studio in Brooklyn.

Teaching experience in NYC:
I am giving private art lessons at my studio (2016 - present). I help students improve their drawing and painting skills, as well as to develop a unique style.
Creatively Wild Art Studio, Brooklyn, (2016 - 2019). I taught students ranging from toddlers to teens and adults, working with drawing, painting, mixed media, found object art, and collage. I helped to prepare portfolios.
Immaculate Conception School, Manhattan, (2019) I taught Elementary and Middle schools.

Art career: I have exhibited both nationally and internationally including at the Museum of Contemporary Art Erarta (MCAE) in Saint-Petersburg, the Art Center WINZAVOD, in Moscow, the State Museum of Novosibirsk, Tomsk, and Kemerovo in Russia, and Nord Art 2010, Rendsburg, Germany. I had three solo shows in NYC - “Urban Reflections” at Erarta Gallery (2013), “Woman in Landscape” at Space 776 Gallery (2022), and “Songs of Summer” at The Untitled Space Gallery (2023). In NYC, I showed my work in group exhibitions at SFAprojects Gallery, The Royal Gallery in NYC, as well as at Trenton Artwork Center, NJ, and at Feminist Biennial, Woman Made Gallery, Chicago.

I studied drawing and painting at Novosibirsk State Academy of Architecture and Fine Arts during my undergraduate. Drawing - 346 hours. Painting - 110 hours. I also took additional drawing and painting courses at The Art Students League of New York. Since 1998, I have been a full-time artist, so I utilize and improve my drawing and painting skills, working in my art studio every day. My artwork has been exhibited nationally and internationally in museums, commercial and non-profit galleries, and art festivals. As part of my drawing course, I teach the basic theory of composition, light/shadow, and the basics of perspective, as well as the proportions of the human figure. My classes include drawing still life, a landscape, a human figure, and a portrait. I also try to help students develop their unique artistic style and vision of the world. I give assignments for developing imagination and students’ ability to express their thoughts and feelings visually. During 2016-2019 I worked as an Art Teacher at Creatively Wild Art Studio in Brooklyn. I taught different media, including drawing and painting, to students of different ages, from elementary school to adults. I helped teen students prepare art portfolios for college applications. At Immaculate Conception School, Manhattan (2019). I taught art to Elementary and Middle school students. Since 2016, I have been giving private art lessons at my studio.

I studied painting at Novosibirsk State Academy of Architecture and Fine Arts. I studied MFA Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Also, I took additional drawing and painting courses at The Art Students League of New York. Since 1998, I have been a full-time artist, so I am developing my drawing and painting skills, working in my art studio every day. My artwork has been exhibited nationally and internationally in solo and group exhibitions at the galleries and museums. I have had three solo shows in New York. The last one, “Songs of Summer,” was presented by The Untitled Space Gallery this year, 2023. I have experience teaching both children and adults, in groups and individually. I can teach the fundamental basics of painting and drawing - composition, color theory, light and shadow relationship, and perspective. I will explain different materials and techniques and design a course of lessons that will work toward your specific needs and goals. If you want to have a good time and fun, I will give you stimulating assignments to boost your imagination and creativity. I will help you develop your unique artistic style, a vision of the world, and the ability to express your thoughts and feelings visually. 2016-2019, I worked as an Art Teacher at Creatively Wild Art Studio in Brooklyn. Great oil painting lesson!

I just had my first painting lesson with Elena, and it was a super cool experience! Elena is very professional, knowledgable and friendly. We first discussed what I wanted to learn and she offered several options for a lesson. She explained color theory and how to mix colors and use pallet knives in a very clear way. She is very focused and attentive and working with her allows for a fun time as well. Her guidance was consistent and led me to a great result. I couldn’t believe what I painted for my first attempt at oil painting. She set up a comfortable environment in her studio and it was inspiring to see an artist work and use different tools to create. I was very happy with the entire experience. Highly recommended!
