Hi! I'm Alex, a 2026 graduate of Brown University with an Sc.B. in Mathematical Physics and Visual Art (honors). I scored 1580 on the SAT (800 Math, 780 Reading and Writing) and earned 5s on every AP exam I took, including Calculus BC and Physics C. At Brown I studied everything from electricity and magnetism to quantum mechanics, so I teach from a deep understanding of the material.

Over the past year I tutored for more than 90 hours. Online, I worked one on one with students in grades 7 through 11 in Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Physics, including AP prep. In person, I tutored Brown varsity athletes in university physics. As a research assistant in Brown's physics department, I also co-wrote an active-learning electricity and magnetism workbook for an introductory course. In sessions I ask questions before I explain, use sketches and simulations to make ideas visual, and break hard problems into steps a student can own.
I work best with middle and high school students in algebra through calculus, physics including AP, and the SAT. I was also managing editor of my high school newspaper, so I can help with reading and essays too. Beyond grades, I want students to get genuinely excited about what they're learning, the way my own mentors did for me.
