I have a PhD [biochemistry], a BFA [video] and a BA [anthropology]. I began tutoring as an undergraduate. And I never stopped! I tutored throughout my academic career. I have experience teaching in a one-on-one setting and experience teaching in a classroom setting. I've tutored high school students, undergraduate students, graduate students and adults.

I've found that tailoring my approach to each individual student—assessing the student's strengths and weaknesses, identifying their learning style, and creating a customized study plan that meets their specific needs—is much more effective than just lecturing or providing information. This may involve asking the student questions, encouraging them to ask questions, or having them practice solving problems on their own.

In addition, visual aids can be helpful for students who are visual learners. These aids can help to break down complex concepts and make them easier to understand.

I try to find the right balance between providing information and engaging the student in the learning process.
