Hi! I’m Kelly, a recent graduate from Boston University (Class of 2025), where I earned a BFA in Graphic Design with a minor in Business, Innovation & Entrepreneurship. I also attended Stuyvesant High School, so I’m very familiar with the SHSAT process and the academic rigor of NYC schools.

Hi! I’m Kelly, a recent graduate from Boston University (Class of 2025), where I earned a BFA in Graphic Design with a minor in Business, Innovation & Entrepreneurship. I also attended Stuyvesant High School, so I’m very familiar with the SHSAT process and the academic rigor of NYC schools.

I’ve been tutoring SHSAT and SAT students since my senior year of high school, and I also work with elementary and middle school students across a range of subjects. My teaching style is patient, structured, and personalized. I focus on building strong fundamentals, improving test-taking strategies, and helping students develop confidence and independent study habits.

In addition to private tutoring, I’ve worked as a teaching assistant at Angel Advantage Center, supporting students from immigrant families in navigating both academic challenges and language barriers. I’m fluent in Mandarin, which allows me to communicate clearly with both students and parents when needed.

Academically, I scored 1500+ on the SAT and earned 5s on AP Chinese, AP English Language & Composition, AP Art History, and AP U.S. Government & Politics.

I also have a strong background in the arts, especially drawing and painting, and enjoy working with students interested in creative development.

My goal is not only to help students improve their grades and test scores, but also to build confidence and make learning feel more approachable and engaging.

I've designed logos and apparels for organizations like student government, theatre, key club, school yearbook and newspaper, etc. I use graphic design along sides with my marketing and social media related tasks.

Kelly really helped me with finding what values of variables when it comes to equations and helped me further understand the meaning of no solution, 1 solution, 2 solutions, or infinite amount. Overall very helpful lesson!

Reliable Tutor

The lesson was effective however I wish she would use the whiteboard more and write the equations instead of trying to saying the equation because it’s not as effective for a visual learner. Besides that the lesson was good :)

We went over topics that I thought that I understood but turns out I don’t really know 100% of the topic. She helps me by guiding through the problem but I wish that she would use more visuals to help me understand. But besides that she is very reliable and patient to help you through any problem.
