I received my MSED in Art Education in 2009, with high honors and my bachelor’s degree in Art History, with a minor in Studio Art. I have taught private Art lessons for the past 5 years and helped many students build a college art portfolio.

Many of my students have their own dreams and goals for what they want to do with their own art, and there are many different ways to develop these artistic skills. I focus on guiding my students through observation, expression and reflection. I am a strong believer in offering my students the opportunity to slow down and look at what they are drawing. Many times, we forget to look at what we are drawing and draw what are mind preconceives it to be. A school days busy schedule can make it tough for students to expand in their art and have the opportunity to experiment with many different mediums to see how expressive they can be with the materials. Working as your art tutor I am excited to offer you this opportunity. I also believe that you can grow more as a student and artist by taking the time to reflect on what you created. I have discovered through the years of my teaching experience that when a student can talk about the reasons for what they created and connected it to their own personal goals, they tend to not be afraid to challenge themselves to create at a level without fear of failure. I also find that some of my students enjoy creating as an outlet for their own emotional needs for these students I center the art lessons around mindfulness and social emotional learning.

I am here to offer my knowledge and skills to help design an art curriculum that will meet your needs as a growing artist.
