Hi! I’m a math tutor with nearly nine years of experience working with college students at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) and Hostos Community College. I specialize in helping students build a stronger understanding of mathematics while working through the frustration and uncertainty that often comes with difficult material.

At BMCC, I worked in the Math Lab from 2017 through early 2026, tutoring students in Arithmetic, Algebra I and II, Precalculus, Calculus I, and Calculus II. I worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds and skill levels, both in person and online. This experience taught me to adapt my approach to the individual student rather than rely on a one-size-fits-all explanation.

I have also worked alongside professors during in-class sessions and served as a teaching assistant at Hostos Community College. These experiences gave me a strong understanding of how college mathematics courses are structured and how different topics connect to material students will encounter later.

My approach is patient, thorough, and focused on understanding rather than memorization. I encourage students to ask questions without worrying about whether they are "supposed" to know something already. When appropriate, I explain not only how to solve a problem, but why a particular method works and when it should be used. I adjust my approach according to each student's needs and goals.

I graduated from Hostos Community College as Salutatorian in 2016 and am continuing my studies in mathematics at Lehman College. I particularly enjoy helping students who feel that they simply "aren't good at math." In my experience, difficulty with mathematics is often less about ability than about gaps in foundational knowledge or needing an explanation that makes sense to the student.
