Hello! My name is Kait and I am a Special Education teacher currently working in a middle school. I pride myself off my ability to explain concepts and tailor instruction to different learning needs.

My greatest strengths are helping students to improve writing and build reading comprehension. A lot of my students come to me at elementary reading levels so I’m well trained on working on remedial skills, as well as helping kids access grade level concepts through differentiated instruction.

With 8 years teaching middle school in NYC public schools, I have taught students with various needs, including students with disabilities & language support needs. I’ve served as a SETSS provider, 12:1 teacher, ICT teacher and 504 coordinator.

Not only do I hold a masters in education, but just obtained my second in educational leadership. I have spearheaded literacy interventions and social emotional learning interventions within the schools I’ve served. As a former special education department chair, I also organized my schools special education recovery services to help students with disabilities bridge learning gaps in the aftermath of remote learning.

Intervention Trainings: Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Literacy intervention, Rewards, and TransMath.

Let’s set rigorous goals and work together so that you can be successful and develop a range of transferable skills!
