Before becoming a tutor, I taught English/Special Education for over 30 years in public high schools in NYC and Westchester, including prepping students for the English Regents. My Special Education students had a first-time passing rate of 70%, which was considered outstanding. My templates for writing Regents essays were used by other teachers.

Valerie is incredibly compedent and helpful. She is very thorough and thoughtful in the ways she is helping me navigate applying to graduate school. I sent her a very rough draft of my statement of purpose which she blatantly spent a very long time going over, making neccesary edits to prepare for our first formal meeting. During our first meeting she posed may thought-provoking questions and recived my feedback as well. I love that it feels more like a conversation where we are working together, rather than someone just making adjustments and moving on.
