I am currently a science teacher for 6 years and have taught every science under the sun including biology, ecology, environmental science, anatomy and physiology, and earth science. In truth science is my passion. In my summers off I have traveled to Costa Rica to do my personal research on tropical frogs. I have also worked at prestigious institutions such the American Museum of Natural History. I loved every minute of it and it gave me great insight on how to do science in the practical field. I believe all students can learn and love the 1 on 1. I love seeing students' eyes light up when they understand a difficult concept that they were struggling with previously. I am a very kinesthetic and visual learner and incorporate that into my teaching methods. I often incorporate art and project-based learning into what I do. I like to think outside of the box and have achieved a 85 percent passing rate on the Living Environment Regents three years in a row, a testament to the effectiveness of my methods. When I tutor, I make concepts simple and easy to understand providing a lot of mnemonics and easy to memorize word associations. I am also bilingual and can speak in both Spanish and English. I am very excited to work with students that are struggling and need the extra help.
