With two degrees in Economics from Columbia, a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter holder, and 30+ years experience in international banking in Asia and the U.S., this retired banker can help you understand finance and economics both in academic and practical terms. I managed and taught major bank training programs in London and New York. I'm experienced in dealing with bank fraud, and in teaching others to avoid fraud. For CFA candidates, I’ve tutored individuals, taught classes, and written curricula.

Data Forecasting and Financial Modeling using Excel are areas where I can help. I taught Excel in a local college for 3 semesters, taught financial modeling in Excel at NYU SPC for over five years, tutored students in excel for over a year, and managed a credit/lending department supervising staff who regularly created financial models in Excel.

For ten years I was an adjunct assistant professor at NYU SCE teaching finance, financial modeling, financial accounting, and banking. We can go at either a patient civilized pace, or at an intense speed, depending on your requirements.

CFA

I was awarded the CFA charter in 2001. In the past ten years I've tutored CFA candidates and taught and tutored Finance, Accounting, Economics, and Statistics - which are the core areas of the CFA I and CFA II exams and also important in the CFA III exam. I've taught CFA prep courses, and I wrote lecture slide sets for the Pearson CFA prep course. I'm a current member of the CFA Institute.
Finance

Finance

I achieved the CFA charter in 2001. Before that I attained two degrees in Economics from Columbia. I taught finance, financial modeling, accounting, and related topics at NYU for ten years. I also wrote some of the CFA prep material for the Pearson/NYIF program. I have over 30 years experience in banking during much of which I taught and tutored on the side. In the past year alone I've tutored finance both for MBA students and CFA candidates.
Financial Accounting

Financial Accounting

I have over 15 years of recent experience teaching and tutoring accounting, but it really started years before that. I started study of accounting almost 40 years ago as part of the bank management training program at a bank later merged into JPMorganChase. After training, I was selected to go to London to run the entire training program, including accounting and finance, in London. Some years after that I taught financial statement analysis, financial modeling, finance, economics and related topics at NYU as an adjunct instructor where I taught part-time for ten years. I was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst charter in 2001. Since then, I've taught and tutored accounting (and other topics) as part of CFA test prep as well as for MBA and other students.
Macroeconomics

Macroeconomics

I have two degrees in Economics from Columbia, and my first job was as a staff economist for Nikko Securities, a large Japanese investment bank. Since then, I've taught Economics several times and tutored both macro and micro frequently over the last 15 years.

Microsoft Excel

I have experience teaching Excel at the college level. In addition, for ten years I was the manager of a bank credit and lending department. I had to train and supervise the staff's required creation of Excel based financial forecasting models for every corporate client. Before that I taught Excel based financial modeling at the professional level at NYU SCPE.
