Hello, students and families! I am a full-time elementary special education teacher and hold a valid New York State Students With Disabilities (All Grades) teaching certificate, as well as teaching credentials from California and New Mexico. My professional experience includes teaching elementary-aged students with autism, ADHD, communication challenges, intellectual disabilities, and other learning needs in classroom, small-group, and individualized settings. I specialize in reading, phonics, early literacy, study skills, and foundational academic skills. I have extensive experience adapting instruction for students who benefit from visual supports, repetition, assistive communication, multisensory activities, and clearly structured routines.

My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging, and individualized. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths, present skill level, interests, and areas that need support. I then create structured lessons using clear modeling, guided practice, visual materials, frequent review, and positive reinforcement. I break challenging skills into manageable steps and adjust the pace, materials, and teaching method according to the student’s response. I can support students who need academic remediation, assistance with attention and organization, or additional practice to strengthen their confidence and independence.

What sets me apart is my ability to recognize that behavior, attention, communication, and academic performance are often connected. I look beyond whether an answer is correct or incorrect to determine what support will help the student learn successfully. I maintain clear expectations while creating a warm and respectful environment in which students feel safe taking risks and making mistakes. I also value communication with parents and caregivers so that tutoring goals remain meaningful and consistent with the student’s needs at home and at school.
